- How long does it take to install a Media Wall or Accent Wall?
Our typical installation takes 3 to 14 days, depending on the complexity and level of customization.
- Basic builds (like a standard shiplap media wall) can be completed in as little as 3–5 days.
- Painted finishes often require 5–7 days due to extra steps like sanding, priming, and drying time — all to ensure the smoothest possible surface.
- Complex designs involving stone, built-in lighting, shelving, or special materials may take up to 14 days, especially if we need to source and deliver custom materials or collaborate with a designer.
Whatever the scope, we provide a clear timeline before we begin — and we stick to it. From start to finish, your project is in expert hands.
- How long does it take to install an Accent Wall?
Most accent wall projects are completed in 2–3 days.
- Day 1: Wall preparation, layout sketching, material delivery, and final design confirmation.
- Day 2: Installation of moldings, sanding, smoothing, and preparing for paint.
- Day 3 (if needed): Final painting — done only after everything has dried perfectly for a flawless finish.
Some projects can be completed in just 2 days, especially if the wall is small or the design is straightforward.
Installation time may be extended in cases of:
- High walls requiring scaffolding
- Intricate patterns
- Multi-color designs
We always tailor the timeline to your project’s complexity, ensuring both precision and beauty.
- Do you remove old structures or fireplaces?
Yes, we do. In many projects, we remove old elements like outdated wall units, drywall, or built-in fireplaces to make room for your new feature wall. Depending on the condition, we may either fully demolish and rebuild, or construct a new structure over the existing surface.
We’ve seen it all — from peeling wallpaper to uneven drywall and heavy brick surrounds. Whatever the case, we handle demolition with care and always prep the wall to ensure perfect installation of your custom media or accent wall.

- Do I need to prepare anything before installation starts?
In most cases — no. We take care of all prep work, including site visits, measurements, wall condition assessment, and recommendations for reinforcement or adjustments.
However, if your wall has major damage, outdated wiring, unusual structures, or elements you’d like to preserve or integrate — it’s important to let us know in advance.
Sometimes, minor preparation is needed, such as:
- Removing furniture, shelves, or TV in front of the wall
- Clearing access to the work area
- Notifying us about unusual electrical setups, radiators, or hidden systems
The good news? We’ll guide you through everything during your free consultation.
And here’s a tip: If you can send us a photo of your current wall and a few inspiration references before our consultation — the process will go even smoother, and we’ll come better prepared to bring your vision to life.

- Who installs the media or accent walls — your own team or outside contractors?
Only our trained in-house professionals.
We don’t use random subcontractors or unverified crews.
At Accent Wall Studio, we currently have four experienced installation teams. These are highly skilled craftsmen who have worked with us long-term and are deeply familiar with every step of our process — from framework to finishing touches.
Each project is typically handled by 1–2 lead specialists, depending on its complexity. In some cases, we may involve a third expert for specific tasks, but always from our internal crew.
We also have support technicians who can assist on-site whenever needed — all part of our trusted team.
This way, we guarantee full quality control and personal accountability on every project.
- Where does the installation take place? Will all the work be done in my home?
We aim to minimize disruption in your home as much as possible.
While the main installation — framing, mounting, and final touches — takes place on-site, many custom elements are prepped in our workshop.
For example, we often pre-build and pre-paint mantels, shelves, and cabinetry in our shop to reduce dust and construction time in your space. This allows us to streamline the process and maintain a cleaner, quieter environment during installation.
Let us handle the mess — so you can enjoy the transformation.
- How does the entire process work? What should I expect as a client?
We keep everything simple, clear, and transparent — from start to finish.
- Free Initial Consultation (Online):
- We begin with a friendly video call to explore your ideas, space, and goals. Some clients already know what they want, others rely on us for guidance — both options work great. Share any inspiration or references, and we’ll take it from there.
- Preliminary Estimate:
- Within 24 hours after our consultation, you’ll receive a tailored budget range based on your needs and selected materials.
- On-Site Visit (if needed):
- If all details are finalized during the consultation, we proceed straight to the contract. If further clarification is needed, we schedule a home visit to measure and finalize everything.
- Contract & Deposit:
- Once the plan is set, we sign the contract and request a 30% deposit to book your installation and start material prep.
- Dedicated Project Manager Assigned:
- From day one, a dedicated project manager is assigned to your project. Whether you’re at home or away, your manager will keep you updated, coordinate the work, resolve any issues, and ensure everything goes smoothly. You’ll always have someone you can reach out to directly.
- Installation:
- Installation begins with material delivery, wall layout, and initial structure setup. Depending on the design complexity, installation continues over the following days.
- Final Touches:
- We always leave room for a final “touch-up” day to polish the details or accommodate last-minute requests.
This process ensures your wall is custom-built around you — with full support every step of the way.
How clean and tidy is the installation process?
We treat your home like it’s our own.
Before starting any work, we protect your floors, furniture, and walkways using drop cloths, plastic coverings, and barrier systems. We use vacuum-equipped tools and dust collectors to minimize airborne debris — especially during sanding or cutting.
Most custom elements like shelves, mantels, and cabinets are often pre-built and painted in our workshop to reduce mess and noise in your home.
Our team cleans up after themselves daily — you won’t find construction chaos or dust all over your space. On the final day, we do a detailed cleanup to leave your home spotless and your new wall ready to shine.
